A different kind of paradise...

Our trip to Juneau, Alaska. Snowy days, snowy nights, much needed together time.  Learning new things about myself and my husband. Finding new strengths, remembering how to relax, appreciating the beauty that our Earth has to offer. Small town in a capital city, snowstorm in a rainforest, exploring with my love. Perfect.

With the help of my husband, prayer, and dramamine, I made it thru (and enjoyed!) my first flight in 21 years.

Here's a taste of what valentines day was like at our house:

It was a lovely day. Followed by a night with a sick little princess :(  Our movie/dessert night was postponed to the next evening, and the princess is doing much better now. One more day till Juneau!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I love holidays. I even enjoy making meals special for the kids with silly shapes and themes. Mom was laughing at me tonight while I made "meat hearts" for Sammy's school lunch tomorrow. What boy wouldn't love tortilla & ham sandwiches cut into heart shapes? Oh, and lots of heart stickers on his mini orange, and a heart-crispy treat on top. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures, I'll show off our valentines fun.  Dan gave me a new outfit for my valentine's gift...snowboots, leggings, and a bedazzled thermal tunic. For our trip to JUNEAU! We are escaping for the weekend to Alaska, so very exciting, a vacation for just the two of us...and a step toward a new adventure.

This quote has deep meaning to me at the moment, and for anyone who knows me- they know that the Harry Potter novels hold a special place in my heart. I so look forward to the day my children are ready to dive in to the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione. Now, back to that flighty temptress...
